In an official statement, PAGCOR Chairman and CEO Alejandro H. Tengco identified the fake website as operating under the domain www.pagcorphilippines.com.
He also confirmed that this domain has no affiliation with PAGCOR and strongly urged individuals and businesses to avoid any kind of interaction with it.
“We urge the public not to anything or transact through the said fake website that uses the domain name www.pagcorphilippines.com because it is definitely not from PAGCOR and all its contents are spurious,” Tengco emphasized.
Furthermore, Tengco pointed out that the accreditation forms displayed on the fraudulent website contain a forged signature that does not belong to him, further proving the deceptive nature of the operation.

PAGCOR has taken the issue to the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) for a full investigation. They are now working to identify those responsible for the fraudulent website and ensure legal action is taken against them.
“We are also working to identify the persons behind this fraud, and we shall go after them with the full force and extent of the law,” Tengco affirmed.
According to PAGCOR, the scam site was originally launched on Saturday, February 22. As it happens, that is the day when PACGOR was not in operation. Therefore, the scammers obviously did it on purpose, so they could scam applicants by posing as the regulator.
The Threat to the Online Gambling Industry 68x12
Such scams are harmful not only for the gaming operators and regulators, but also for the individual players.
On one hand, they threaten the industry integrity, and on the other, they affect the trust players have in regulators and the operators. In simple , deception undermines the credibility of the legitimacy of the entire gaming industry. And it can affect further all major markets, including the UK, Canada.
According to industry experts, these activities could lead to catastrophic results if left unchecked.
First, the compliance legitimate operators have in place will face intense scrutiny, while investors may hesitate to fund new gaming ventures. Damaged trust and security are hard to overcome.
And it truly goes beyond financial losses. The main concern is security, as personal, financial and other sensitive information is shared with false authorities.
Possible ways to mitigate these threats include increased cybersecurity measures and more information on potential frauds. Educating the public on the dangers of such scams Is paramount.
PAGCOR’s Advice on Staying Safe 4g5z43
For individuals that are seeking licencing from PACGOR, the regulator stresses that they should turn to its only official website: www.pagcor.ph. Everyone looking for gaming licenses, accreditation, or other official information must first all details through this official domain.
With increasing digital threats, vigilance is key. Not only in the Philippines, but the entire industry. It’s not clear how this incident has affected iGaming, but it’s clear it has had an impact. However, that impact is nothing compared to what could have happened had PACGOR not identified the threat on time.
